Special Announcement (4-24-17): Good Shepherd Campaign Announces Matching Challenge Grant

As the Good Shepherd Campaign enters its final two weeks, we are within inches of our goal of $2 million.  Due to the extraordinary generosity of over 100 donors, our total stands today at $1,600,000.  What once seemed daunting, if not impossible, today has every chance of becoming a reality.

Three donors who have already pledged generously have increased their pledges by $50,000 each.  They are giving this money as a matching challenge grant, with the hope of reaching or even exceeding the $2 million goal.   The donor trio will match every dollar contributed between today and May 6, up to a total of $150,000.  This opens the door to raise an additional $300,000 or more in the next two weeks.

Whether you have already given or not, today is the time to consider a gift to the Good Shepherd Campaign.  If you have not yet given, please give.  If you have given and are in a position to make an additional gift of any amount, it would be most appreciated.  And if, for any reason, this is not possible for you, that is fine, too.  New and increased gifts and pledges made prior to May 5 will count toward the match; payment of all gifts will be accepted over a 3 year period ending in December 2019.

While $2 million would represent an unprecedented success, a sufficient additional sum would allow us to include full fire sprinkling throughout the building.  This feature would insure the highest safety and protection in the event of a fire, and it would fulfill the highest standard related to occupancy permits and full building use.  We estimate that we could accomplish full fire sprinkling if we could raise in the range of $2.15 million.  Every dollar you give will get us closer to that goal.

As we journey together toward Good Shepherd Sunday on May 7, the Building Project and Fund Raising Committees thank you for your extraordinary generosity, your thoughtful comments, your prayers and your love for Christ Church and all its people.  We thank you for believing that safety, accessibility and hospitality are at the heart of our Christian mission.

You may make your gift by using this pledge sheet or by emailing Fr. Seth Dietrich at seth@christchurchwfb.org or Campaign Chair Meredie Scrivner at meredith.scrivner@gmail.com.  Thank you.
