Grow Solar
Ecclesiastes 11:7 (NKJV) “Truly the light is sweet, and [it is] pleasant for the eyes to behold the sun”
Solar energy is much more than just low-cost energy generation. According to the Wisconsin Solar Model Ordinance (2020): Households and businesses seeking to reduce their carbon footprint see solar energy as a strong complement to energy efficiency. Agricultural producers see solar energy as an economic hedge against price volatility in commodity crops. Utilities see solar energy’s declining cost, high reliability, and free fuel as a means to put downward pressure on electric rates. Corporate, institutional, and municipal buyers are actively acquiring carbon-free solar generation to meet climate and clean energy goals. Innovative solar site designs are capturing habitat and water quality co-benefits by using solar with habitat-friendly ground cover to restore eco-system functions. Grow Solar Greater Milwaukee allows homeowners and businesses to pool their purchasing power to buy solar panels at a lower cost. The group buy program, started in 2013, has expanded and is working directly with villages north of Milwaukee. The program recently reached its first goal, triggering a rebate for all of its participants.
